in handmade fashion. The company is based in New York City. Pensa Custom Guitars was founded by Argentine businessman Rudy Pensa. 

The MK-I is the Pensa Guitars Flagship model. It is a versatile guitar suitable for virtually any style of player. The MK-I comes with a stunning carved and quilted Maple top with a Mahogany body, Maple neck, and Rosewood fretboard. This model comes with a Fender style scale length and is equipped with HSS EMG pickups and a Fender Style non tremolo bridge that strings through the body. It features a stunning one piece quilted maple body finished with a lovely amber stain.

There has been a lot of attention focused on these high quality instruments and Mark Knopflers own Pensa (Suhr) just sold at Christies auction for 504 GBP ($639,000 USD).
