1970's Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass Left Handed
For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1970's Hofner 500/1 Violin Left Handed Bass.
The 500/1 Violin Bass was first shown to the public in Frankfurt, Germany in 1956 and has been in continuous production ever since. Designed by Hofner as an alternative to the upright double bass, it leapt to worldwide fame when Paul McCartney was seen playing one with The Beatles in the early 1960s. Since then, it has forever been dubbed the "Beatle Bass".
This mid-1970's 500/1 is similar to the famous 1960's build with a few minor changes. The changes include closed-back tuners, Gold Hofner lacquered headstock logo, shortened tailpiece, and the fabulous sounding single-coil Hofner blade pickups. The original black knobs were swapped out for the more traditional white and gold knobs with the originals in the bass' original hardshell case. To top it all off, this model is left handed, just like Paul's.
This would be a great addition to any vintage collection. Come check it out!
