1967 Ampeg AEB-1 Bass

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1967 Ampeg AEB-1 bass guitar.

Truly a unique bass, this 1967 Ampeg AEB-1 Bass was the first horizontal electric bass of Ampeg's own design, and they are the most commonly recognized of the Scroll Basses. They feature the iconic scroll headstock and a rounded body with two large F-holes that go all the way through the body. Purchased in a pawn shop in San Francisco back in the 1970s, this 1967 AEB-1 had been refinished on the sides of the guitar, had a bridge upgrade, and a Texas-shaped inlay at the first fret when the last owner acquired it. The tuners have been upgraded to Hipshot Bass Tuning Machines. It also appears to have had a refret which has left it in great playing condition. Otherwise this bass is original with a great bass tone; plenty of low end with articulate mid-range, complemented by the flatwound strings.

Often played by artists such as Walter Becker and Rick Danko, this bass is as stunning as it is unique. You have to come see and hear it for yourself.
